We are pleased to host a Garmin Aviation Seminar on March 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.  This seminar will focus on the operation of Garmin's latest generation of panel mount products, including the G600, concentrating on their actual in-flight utility and culminating with an overhead projection of what you would see in your cockpit while shooting an IFR Approach.

Here at Mayday, we have expanded our staff.  We have enjoyed a steady flow of service and installation work over the past year and to keep up with this demand, three technicians have been added to our experienced staff.  Two of our new technicians come to us with 15 years of aviation experience each, while the third is a graduate of ITT Technical Institute.

Garmin has announced the availability of new GNS 480 (CNX 80) software version 2.3 and GPS/WAAS software version 3.2.  Units with software version 2.0 or later can be field upgradable.  Units with software prior to 2.0 must be upgraded at the factory. 

The software v2.3 contains many new capabilities:

• MapMX output for interface to the G600 and improved interface to the MX 20 and GMX 200 MFD's
• Enhanced user interface for airway selection
• Support for manual holds at final approach fixes
• Support for 429 GAMA Graphics
• Changed flight plan default origin airport to the nearest airport

GPS/WAAS software version 3.2 along with a complaint antenna installation removes the previously imposed AFMS limitations and restores full TSO-C146a compliance for primary navigation.
